Elections 2017: Bibeksheel Sajha manifesto out with focus on prosperity
Nov 11, 2017-
The newly-formed Bibeksheel Sajha Party has unveiled its manifesto for the provincial and federal elections scheduled for November 26 and December 7 with focus on prosperity.
Making the document public on the open premises of the fallen Dharahara on Friday, BSP leaders promised to transform the country into an inclusive and equitable society if the part got enough seats.
BSP joint coordinator Rabindra Mishra called the document a commitment paper. “We are here to achieve prosperity through our vision and expertise.
Our commitment doesn’t include tall promises that we cannot achieve,” said Mishra. “We’ll be translating people’s hope into reality by becoming a national party this time.”
A party requires at least three percent votes to be recognised as a national party. Blaming politicisation of the various sectors of the country as the major hurdle for progress, the party has promised to end political affiliation of bureaucrats.
“Government officials paid with taxpayer’s money are involved in political activities in office, which should be stopped at the earliest,” said Surya Raj Acharya, party spokesperson and coordinator of the manifesto drafting committee. The 20-page paper stresses much on policy intervention and strategies necessary for the country’s development. “Our main objective is to develop policy that will inspire development, good governance, transparency and a corruption-free state,” said Acharya.
The party said it would promote balanced relations with neighbouring India and China and discourage confidential meetings of government officials and political party leaders with representatives of foreign missions.
The party has said it will prohibit any kinds of strike in the country. On the prospects of development, Acharya said, “We have all the resources including capable manpower for development. However, they are under-utilised.”
The party would also be working for a sustainable integrated transportation system in Kathmandu Valley.
