Ballot boxes from 2410 places brought to respective district headquarters: EC

Ballot boxes from 2410 polling centers of the first phase of federal parliamentary and provincial assembly elections held in 32 districts have been brought to respective district headquarters until Sunday evening, the Election Commission confirmed. The first phase elections were conducted in 2917 polling centers on November 26.

According to information received from Joint Election Operation Centre of Election Commission on Monday, preparations are underway to bring ballot boxes from 40 voting centres to the respective district headquarters by helicopter.   The remaining 467 ballot boxes are being brought to respective district headquarters by road.

EC said that ballot boxes from 15 districts were brought to the concerned district headquarters until 4 pm today, and it has expected that the ballot boxes from the remaining districts will be ferried to district headquarters by Tuesday evening.
