The government has decided to declare public holiday tomorrow to mark the birth of Muhammad Mustafa Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

Issuing a statement on Thursday, the Ministry of Home Affairs has announced to declare public holiday tomorrow to mark the 1492nd birthday of Muhammad.

This is the first time that the government declared public holiday on the birthday of Muhammad.

The government in 2006 had made an agreement with the Musalman Struggle Committee to declare public holiday on the occasion of Muhammad’s birthday.

According to Islamic doctrine, Muhammad is the messenger of god.

Meanwhile, educational institutions will remain closed for seven days from tomorrow as Sunday is Ubhauli festival and the government has declared public holiday from Monday to Thursday for parliamentary and provincial elections. The elections are scheduled for December 6.

The government offices will remain closed on the Election Day.

Likewise, the government has also announced public holiday on Prithvi Jayanti.
