Voter education launched in Tehrathum
The parties have printed sample ballot papers for the purpose while making voter education a part of their election campaign
Dec 4, 2017-Political parties have been carrying out voter education in Tehrathum district with the objective of minimising the number of invalid votes in the second phase of federal parliament and provincial assembly elections to be held on December 7.
The parties have printed sample ballot papers for the purpose, while making the voter education as part of their election campaign. “We are training voters on ways to avoid invalid votes,” said Santosh Subba, Nepali Congress district secretary.
Likewise, the CPN-UML has also been involved in the education campaign. “Many voters are still unaware about voting process. So we have started the campaign to
teach them how to vote properly and prevent invalid votes,” said Bhupati Lal Shrestha, UML deputy secretary in the district.
The district election office has deployed an official in each of the 89 polling centres for educating voters about the voting process. But many voters in the district remain ignorant about the process.
