Yantra 6.0, a tech-art exhibit, on show

Nepali culture, in its authenticity, is a melting pot of seemingly divergent customs. In the past, Nepali life was the product of the influence of our immediate neighbours, but today the Nepali psyche is equally influenced as much by the technological trends around the world as it is by its various ethnic myths. An ongoing exhibition, Yantra 6.0, which is currently on show, explores this relationship between the ancient and the modern.
Yantra 6.0, an art-tech exhibition, which is being held at the premises of Nepal Communitere, has in display, among others, a talking tree that is willing to share its history; Holo Mithila that incorporates Mithila art in a hologram; and a piano which can be played by trudging along it.
The exhibition also showcases art pieces based on Mithila art practices. According to the organisers, one of the core focuses of the exhibition is to induce the practice of interdisciplinary thought that neither the engineer nor the artist had during their academic training.
The exhibition is being organised from 5-7 pm and will continue till December 14.
