Sumargi files defamation case against Kantipur Publications

Kantipur Media Group Chairman and Managing Director Kailash Sirohiya, director Swostika Sirohiya and Kantipur Daily Editor-in-Chief Sudheer Sharma has been named defendants in the case. He has sought a compensation of Rs 250 million.
Sumargi in his complaint has claimed that the news articles that referred to his properties of not having a legitimate source were baseless and KMG has committed crime by doing so.
He sought compensation stating that the news articles have caused loss to his business which he claimed were being operated with foreign investments.
The complaint filed through Sumargi's attorney Tulsi Bahadur Karki states that Sumargi's investments are incontestable and that the news has defamed his image.
