Two foreigners nabbed with 2 kg cocaine

Two foreigners have been arrested in possession of two kg cocaine from a hotel in Thamel, a major tourist hub of Kathmandu.
A police team deployed from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of Nepal Police arrested Bolivian citizen Freddy Mamani Andia (passport number 9051567) and Thai woman Khuanjai Khanarat (passport number AA 9155823).
The market price of the confiscated cocaine is said to be around Rs 40 million. Police said that the duo, apparently just the carriers, were intercepted based on a tip-off.
The Bolivian citizen had entered Nepal through India via Ethiopia and Brazil.
It has been learnt that the detainees were planning to head Thai Capital Bangkok from Nepal.
The smugglers have been using Nepal as the transit point for cocaine smuggling.
