Property worth Rs 60 million was lost in a fire when a shoe shop caught fire at Hatiya in the district headquarters on Saturday morning.
According to the district police office, the shop that belonged to Nausad Khatun was burnt to ashes in the fire.
Khatun had reportedly left for home on Friday evening after closing his shop but then found it engulfed in a blaze when he arrived to open it the next morning. He then called for help from locals and police to douse the fire.
Fire tenders from Inaruwa of Sunsari and Lahan were summoned to help put out the fire, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dhruva Kumar Shrestha. RSS
