Two motorcycle-borne persons have tried to kill a legal officer of the Bharatpur-based BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital in Chitwan by pouring diesel on Saturday.

Gokarna Sapkota said that two persons who came on a motorbike attempted to kill him by pouring diesel at Machhapuchhare Chok of Bharatpur at around 9 am today. Sapkota said that he somehow saved himself by fleeing the scene.

“There were other persons near the scene as well. They also tried to save me. Later, I fled the scene or else they have almost poured diesel over me,” Sapkota said.

Locals said that they have recovered pamphlets of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal from around the scene.

SP Deepak Thapa of the District Police Office said that they are looking into the case.
