Eight persons including central-level leaders of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal have been arrested from Hile of Dhankuta.
Police on Monday arrested central member and central Koshi bureau in-charge Kiran Rai, among other cadres, while they were holding a meeting at a Hile-based hotel.
The arrestees have been identified as Koshi bureau member Dipsan Limbu (Sagar), Dhankuta district in-charge Madhav Sharma (Akash), Sankhuwasabha in-charge Raj Kumar Dangol and Secretary Dibya Baral, Dhankuta district Secretary Nawaraj Bhattarai, Tehrathum district Secretary Kamala Limbu and member Phurba Tamang.
DSP Gautam Mishra said that they were arrested for their alleged involvement in asking donations and sending letters to the district-based various local level offices to vacate them.
All the detainees have been kept at the custody of District Police Office for investigation.
Police had arrested leaders and cadres of the party and released them later.
