Pyuthan District Hospital based in Bijuwar became tense on Wednesday after relatives and family members of a woman, who died after giving birth to a baby, staged demonstrated.

Radhika Dhami, 23, of Dakhakwadi in Pyuthan Municipality died after she underwent a caesarean section on Tuesday night. Relatives have blamed the hospital negliance for the death saying the operation was conducted without adequate preparations.

“There was no oxygen and they even tried to send the body elsewhere saying she was alive,” said one relative.

District Health Office (DHO) Chief Bishan Subedi said doctors involved in the operation, however, had informed Dhami died after she was fed by her relatives.

Security personnel have been deployed at the hospital to prevent any untoward incidents.

The health of the newborn baby is said to be in good condition.

DHO is coordinating for a discussion between the relatives and hospital administration regarding the matter.
