Religious leader Shree Niwas sent to Jhumka prison

A bench of Chief District Officer Ram Prasad Acharya of the District Administration Office, Morang, has ordered the police administration to keep Acharya in the Jhumka jail as per the to the Arms and Ammunition Act 2019.
Similarly, the District Court Morang has ordered the police administration to keep Madhav Chaudhary, 29, aka Roshan of Belchok, Bharatpur Metropolitan City and Laxmi Raj Adhikari, 32, alias Khan of Gaindakot Municipality-5 of Nawalparasi in the custody.
According to a preliminary investigation, it was Shree Niwas who had instructed his bodyguard Chaudhary to shoot at him on the early morning of April 8 while Adhikari was the person who supplied the pistol.
A single bench of district Judge Nawaraj Dahal ordered the police administration to keep the duo in the custody according to 118 (2) of the Muluki Ain.
Advocate Uddhav Chandra Ghimire had argued from the side of Acharya in the District Administration while senior advocate Hem Raj Parajuli and advocates Mohan Koirala and Janak Bahadur Puri had argued from the side of Chaudhary and Adhikari.
District Attorney Punya Prasad Pathak had argued from the government side.
Shreeniwas Acharya was shot on April 8 in Biratnagar Metropolis-14 at around 1:45am where he had come to attend the Shreemad Bhagvad Mahapuran. Following the incident, Shreeniwas underwent treatment for gunshot wound in his chest and arm at Biratnagar-based Neuro Hospital for 21 days. Acharya had directed Chaudhary to shoot him at his arm, but sustained a bullet in his chest due to a misaimed shot.
