A single bench of district Judge Narayan Prasad Sharma ordered that Ghale be put in custody to probe if he was involved in the gold smuggling case.
The court had started recording his statement shortly after he turned himself in to the court.
According to SP Manoj KC of the District Police Office, Morang, Ghale surrendered himself before the court at around 10 am today. He was on the most wanted list of Nepal Police.
Chudamani Upreti aka Gore, the alleged mastermind of the 33 kg gold smuggling case, while recording his statement, said that he was just a helper and revealed the name of Ghale as the leader of the gold smuggling racket.
