33 kg gold smuggling case: Gore’s another accomplice nabbed from TIA

Ram Kumar Tiwari, who landed in Kathmandu from South Korea, was arrested from the immigration office of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) this afternoon.
In the telephone conversation held between Gore and an official of Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD), Gore said that he used to deploy Tiwari to distribute money, it has been learnt.

The 33kg gold smuggled through the Tribhuvan International Airport had mysteriously disappeared from Kathmandu before reaching its intended destination.
The smuggling case drew much public attention following the murder of Shakya.Shakya’s body was recovered from a vehicle (Ba 12 Cha 5963) in Biratnagar.
The District Attorney’s Office, Morang, has filed a charge sheet at the Morang District Court against 63 suspects.
A special committee formed under Home Ministry’s Joint Secretary Ishwor Poudel had concluded that Upreti and his accomplices smuggled 3,999.6kg of gold since July 2015.
