Turkish Airlines Engage Empowering League: Army, BIA continue to impress

Leaders Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) and Bodhisatwas in Action (BIA) maintained their winning momentum to hold on to the top two spots in men’s event of the Turkish Airlines Engage Empowering League (EEL) Wheelchair Basketball Championships on Monday.

The departmental team registered a comprehensive 54-12 win over Pokhara for fifth win in a row. TAC lead the table with 10 points, two ahead of BIA. At their home court in Chhauni, Raju Dahal netted 26 points for TAC. BIA hammered Nepalgunj 45-0 for their fourth win in a row. Bishnu Shrestha alone tossed in 34 points for the winners.

Nepal Spinal Cord Injury Sports Association (NSCISA) climbed to third with six points after they registered victories in both their matches on Monday. NSCISA eased to a 22-4 win over Chitwan before seeing off Nepalgunj 33-0 to join Jawalakhel Wheelchair Sports Club (JWSC) and Pokhara on six points. Jawalakhel have played four and Pokhara six matches. Dinesh Khatri and Som Rai contributed six points each in NSCISA’s win over Chitwan. Ljatro was the highest scorer with nine points in their win over Nepalgunj.
