House meet put off as govt fails to provide expenditure details of various ministries

The meeting of House of Representatives slated for Sunday has been deferred after the government failed to provide expenditure details of various ministries to the House.

The meeting of the House of Representatives of the federal parliament, under the Appropriation Bill 2075, was scheduled to begin discussion on allocation of budget on various ministries today.

Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara called off the House meet after the discussion on the budgets allocated to the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, Ministry of Drinking Water, Ministry of Agriculture, Land Reform and Cooperatives, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs failed to take place sans expenditure details.

Taking special time in the very beginning of the meeting, lawmaker Khagaraj Adhikari expressed severe concern over the situation being created to obstruct the construction of Pokhara International Airport.
