Time has come to protest against govt: NC

The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has said that the decision and activities of the government are against the achievements of federal democratic republic. The party said that time has come to announce protest programmes to defend the federal democratic republic achieved through a long struggle.

Speaking at the 6th Trade Union Congress (NTUC) organised in the Capital on Tuesday, NC leaders accused the government of trying to impose communist rule in the country and warned of resorting to protest.

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is trying to make the federal democratic republic unsuccessful. The former Prime Minister warned that his party would protest against PM Oli’s move.

“The party will soon announce protest programmes against the government,” he said, adding, “PM Oli’s slogan of nationalism during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Nepal visit has turned into submissiveness.
