A single bench of Justice Bam Kumar Shrestha issued the order cancelling the government’s decision to sack Executive Director of Cottage and Small Industries Development Board Nabin Kumar Jha, Chairman of Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee Narendra Raj Basnet, Co-chair of the National Cooperation Board Dakshya Poudel Subas and Basanta Prakash Upadhyay, General Manager of Gorkhapatra Sansthan.
The apex court has decided to call both parties for discussions on July 31 as the writ petitioners have demanded interim order against the government’s decision.Until then, the court has ordered the government not to implement its decision of July 4. On Thursday, the SC had issued similar interim order regarding the government’s decision to revoke the political appointments of Chairman of Nepal Telecommunication Authori- ty Digambar Jha and Chief Executive officer of Deposit and Credit Guarantee Fund Bishnu Babu Mishra.
On July 4, the Cabinet of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had decided to revoke the political appointments made by the Nepali Congress government, led by Sher Bahadur Deuba, claiming that the appointments were made by breaching the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission.
