Big govt hospitals shutdown medical services except emergency

- Post Report, Kathmandu

Jul 19, 2018-

All medical services except emergency have been shutdown in hospitals across the country including the Capital on Thursday.

The Nepal Medical Association on Wednesday had called for shutting down hospital services today saying that the government was indifferent towards the demands put forth by Dr Govinda KC and in saving his life.

People who had arrived at out-patient departments of various hospitals for treatment returned back as there were no medical staffs present.

Bir Hospital, Maharajgunj-based Teaching Hospital and Kanti Children’s Hospital among others shutdown their OPD services from early this morning. However, OPD services are not shutdown at Teku Hospital.

Meanwhile, private hospitals are partially running the OPD services, it is learnt.
