The event, chaired by vice-chancellor of Kathmandu University Suresh Raj Sharma, saw the presence of noted academics, students, journalists and children’s literature writers.
The non-fiction book includes episodes on the nature of children and how to deal with growing pains both at home and at school.
Neupane has been active in journalism for over two decades and is noted for his reporting during the decade-long Maoist insurgency.
Speaking at the event, fellow children’s writer Binay Kasaju remarked, “This book is an outcome of a research into child psychology and the author seems to have benefitted from his experience bringing up his own son and dealing with children’s issues.”
Neupane is a one-time co-ordinator of Kopila, a weekly children’s supplement of Kantipur daily.
Speaking at the event, author Neupane said that the book is his effort to change the way children are looked at. “There are hundreds of issues that need to be explored regarding child psychology. I request you all to work on it,” Neupane said.
Prior to this, Neupane has published books such as Ambush Ma Chha Barsha, Karma: Sikaima Gahiriyeko Khadal, Talent Show, and Swarnim Samaya.
School Bechney Balak is published by Shikha Publication.
