Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has assured Dr Govinda KC that the government will implement the nine-point agreement signed with him at the earliest. He made such assurance during a meeting with Dr KC at his official residence in Baluwatar on Saturday.
On the occasion, PM Oli also inquired about the health of Dr KC.
The anti-corruption crusader, who began his 15th hunger strike in Jumla on June 30 demanding reforms in medical education sector, ended his strike after signing a nine-point agreement with the government on July 26, 27 days after he resorted to his 15th fast-unto-death.
He broke his hunger strike after the government agreed to his key demands including putting a ban on opening a new medical college in Kathmandu Valley for 10 years.
KC said he will stage another hunger strike if the agreement was not implemented. His aide Abhishek Giri informed KC urged the PM to endorse the agreement and present it before the parliament.
Oli said the government was ready to implement the deal and KC will not have to stage another hunger strike.
