All new Volkswagen Polo 1.0 launched in Nepal
Sep 10, 2018-
Pooja International Nepal, the authorised distributor of Volkswagen marquee cars in Nepal has launched the all new Polo 1.0. The original Polo launched in Nepal back in 2011 and has been regarded as one of the most premium hatchback in Nepal with the highest resale value.
So it is no surprise that the company is looking to build on its success with the launch of the all new Polo 1.0.
The new Polo 1.0 has a 999cc, 3-cylinder in-line engine that produces best-in-class 76PS and 95Nm of torque. The company is targeting the car at customers who want the best fuel efficiency in its segment while still having enough punch to zip through traffic.
The all new Polo 1.0 is being launched at a special promotion price for Dashain. According to the company, the first 100 buyers will be able to pick up the all new Polo 1.0 for only Rs2.55million while the retail price is fixed at Rs2.69 million. The promotional price is claimed to be unmatched by other competitive brands in its segment. Speaking at the launch programme, Bibek Bijukchhe, CEO of Pooja International said that Volkswagen has been the highest automobile selling group in the world for last two consecutive years with a worldwide delivery of more than 10 million units in 2017.
He understands the budget constraints of buyers in Nepal and noted that cars above 1,000cc are generally taxed heavily.
This means the company went with a 999cc engine to avoid heavy taxes, thus allowing the all new Polo 1.0 to have a relatively affordable price tag.
Combined with the significant power and mileage figures of the new Polo 1.0, customers will also be pleased with savings in the form of ownership costs. While most cars in the segment requires an average servicing period every 5,000km, the Polo will only need to be serviced every 15,000km. Customers will also be able to take their cars to any of the nine service stations all over Nepal, with three concentrated in Kathmandu alone.
The highlight of the all new Polo 1.0 is its claimed mileage of 18.48km per litre of petrol. With a max fuel tank capacity of 45 litre, this means a nearly 830km range of a full tank of gas. For those looking for more power, the company is also offering the Polo in a 1.6litre engine variant that produces 105PS and 153Nm of torque.
The Polo comes with major safety features such as ABS, airbag, glavanised body plus luxury features like front and rear power windows, rear view camera, air-condition with pollen filter, rack and tilt power steering among others.
