NCP preparing to move impeachment motion against SC Justice Joshee

The party began the proceedings after Joshee, who was on leave following the rejection by the PHC, rejoined the apex court as justice.
The NCP collected signatures of its lawmakers in a blank paper for moving the impeachment motion against Joshee on Thursday, a party lawmaker said. He said the party is planning to register the impeachment motion against Joshee in the Parliament Secretariat on Thursday itself.
According to the constitution, one-third lawmakers can move an impeachment motion by collecting the signatures. The official against whom the motion is registered should step down following the registration of the impeachment motion.
Joshee went on a leave after the PHC rejected his nomination for the top post of judiciary. He had returned to the Supreme Court after the new Chief Justice was appointed. The SC had also allocated bench to Joshee.
Earlier, NCP lawmakers had collected signatures in a blank paper as part of the bid to impeach then Chief of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Lokman Singh Karki. Later that signature were used to file the impeachment motion.
