According to Department of Livestock Services Director General Bimal Kumar Nirmal, the slaughterhouses of Mukesh Khadgi (RK Meat Shop), Saroj Shahi (A One Meat Shop) and slaughterhouses operated by Dev Khadgi and Sunil Khadgi, which were not registered, have been banned from selling/ buying meat products until the time they revamp their workplaces as per the standard.
“No attention to cleanliness had been given at the slaughterhouses that have been shutdown and we found that they were selling female buffalo meat in place of male buffalo,” said Nirmal, “We had warned the slaughterhouses earlier to conform to the given standards but since they ignored our warning we have shut down their businesses.”
