Planting trees at Sabaiya Jungle as part of ‘Harit Pradesh Abhiyan’ (Green Province Campaign) in Parsa district on Friday, Raut said it would be inappropriate to chop down trees until the detailed project report (DPR) of the Nijgadh International Airport was finalised. Raut said the provincial government won’t let the trees be cut until the DPR was finalised. “Mafias are using their power to cut down trees without preparing the DPR,” Raut said.
Raut said the Green Province Campaign would become the identity of the province and was not a mere show-off. The provincial government planted 2,500 trees in the province on Friday. Provincial ministers planted trees in eight different district of the province as part of the campaign today. The provincial government plans to plant 8,000 trees each in the eight district of the province.
