PM Oli arrives home after attending 73rd UNGA

He landed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) via Qatar Airlines flight at around 4 pm. House Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timsina, Defence Minister Ishwor Pokharel, Nepal Communist Party leader Subas Nembang, among other leaders, welcomed him at the airport.
Addressing the UN General Assembly on September 27, PM Oli had said that his government was moving towards creating an egalitarian and just society in Nepal after the successful elections. In his address, the prime minister had highlighted the historic political transformation of Nepal with a stable government following the promulgation of the new constitution.
PM Oli had left for New York on September 22, leading the Nepali delegation to the UNGA. In New York, Oli held meetings with US President Donald Trump, and British Prime Minister Theresa May, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, among other world leaders, on the margins of UN gathering. PM Oli was accompanied by his spouse Radhika, Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali and his Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal.
After the end of UN gathering, Oli also went to Costa Rica for a three-day official visit. He returned to New York from Costa Rica on Wednesday before returning home.
