13 injured, 4 critical in Syangja bus accident

Thirteen persons have been injured, two of them are said to be seriously hurt, in a bus accident at Bagalthok in Putalibazaar Municipality-11, Syangja on Thursday.

The accident occurred when the bus (Lu 1Kha 4877) heading towards Sunauli from Pokhara hit a wall this afternoon, the District Police Office, Syangja, said.

The injured have been taken to District Hospital, Syangja, for treatment.

Sadang Pariyar, 24, of Putalibazaar, Yam Bahadur Gaha, 21, of Galyang-3, and Goma Gurung, 52, of Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City, Kaski, are said to be in critical condition.

They have been referred to the Western Regional Hospital after primary treatment, said DSP Prakash Bista, spokesperson at Syangja District Police Office.

Bhadra Bahadur Ale, 18, of Chapakot Municipality-1, SujuRana, 17, of Bhirkot Municipality-4, Deepa Parajuli, 18, of Tilottama Municipality-11 of Rupandehi, Laxmi Neupane, 19, of Rampur Municipality, Palpa and Sangita Ranabhat, 25, of Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City, Pokhara, are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Syangja, said DSP Bista.

Similarly, Maya Sharma, 28, of Putalibazaar, Sita Regmi, 47, Kamala Khanal, 35, of Bhirkot-8, Cham Bahadur Sunar, 45, of Paiyu Rural Municipality, Parbat and Muna Sunar, 15 of Tanahun have already been discharged after treatment.

The address of Muna has not been established yet, DSP Bista said. 

Police said that they have arrested bus driver Dal BahadurGurung,56, of Tiloma Municipality-11, Rupandehi for investigation.
