The incident occurred at GheuKhola in Daunne on Thursday at around 3pm.
People heading towards their respective villages and hometowns to celebrate Dashain festival, have been stranded as the local administration and police have remained indifferent to the situation.
The traffic jam has increased along the Highway following the incident as drivers on the both lanes of the roads became impatient to overtake as they please.
The stranded passengers vented their ire over administration’s apathy in resuming vehicular movement along the nation’s main highway for over 20 hours.
Passengers have been roaming around a nearby jungle after they got stuck in the jam. They complained that they have parching with thirst as they couldn’t get a drop of water to drink.
Meanwhile, Nawalparasi Chief District Officer Dipak Raj Nepal said that efforts are underway for the coordination to resolve the matter since parts of Daunne falls between Province 4 and 5. CDO Nepal further said that clearing the overturned vehicle from the narrow accident site would pose a challenge.
