200th birth anniversary of Russian littérateur Turgenev marked at Russian Culture Centre

Russian Centre of Science and Culture and by Nepal Russia Literary Society jointly organised a programme 'Literary Evening dedicated to 200th Birth Anniversary of Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev' at Russian Centre of Science and Culture, Kamalpokhari on Monday.

Turgenev was a Russian novelist, poet, and playwright and the first Russian writer to be widely celebrated in the West.

President of Nepal Russia Literary Society, Prof Dr Jangab Chauhan delivered a speech on the life and works of Turgenev. Likewise a documentary-- 'Turgenev: Heart of Russia' and a short film titled 'Turgenev Today' was also shown during the programme in remembrance of the life and works of Turgenev.

Likewise, Director of Russian Centre of Science and Culture Yuliya Androsova, Vice – President of Nepal Russia Literary Society Bishnu Bahadur Singh, Dr Ashok Thapa and Sushil Sigdel recited poems of Turgenev during the programme.
