Couple arrested for running illegal factory in Chandragiri

Police raided an illegally run soap and chemical factory at a house in Naikap Chandragiri-15, Kathmandu on Tuesday.

A police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu raided the factory owned by local Basu Prasad Bidari and Jyoti Bidari today.

Police have arrested Bidari couple and three workers from the factory. But the workers were released later. 

The company had been producing fake shampoo and spice with label of Head & Shoulders and BMC Meat Masala, police said.

According to DSP Hobindra Bogati of the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, the Bidari couple had been manufacturing fake shampoo and meat masala by setting up three machines for the past one-and-a-half year.

Bogati said the police seized 44 boxes of meat masala and 370 boxes of shampoo with label of Head and Shoulder Company, and raw materials. 

Police investigation disclosed that the Bidari couple had been selling the illegally produced shampoo and meat masala  especially in Dhading and remote places of other districts.

Police said the couple had not kept any records of the sold products to hide their treachery.

The Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, is preparing to lodge a black marketing and trademark infringement case against them.
