Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal (RJPN) leader Laxman Lal Karna has warned that his party would withdraw its support extended to the government after four days.
Speaking at an interaction organised at the Reporters’ Club in Kathmandu on Tuesday, leader Karna said that there is no point in supporting the incumbent government as no discussions have taken place regarding constitution amendment and withdrawal of cases filed against his party leaders and cadres during the Madhes movement, which were the basis of their support.
“There is no reason for us to support the current government and the next party meeting will decide on withdrawing support extended to the government,” said leader Karna clarifying that the RJPN had not lent their support to be a part of the government.
Saying that the KP Sharma Oli-led government has failed altogether, leader Karna said, “There have been massive irregularities of development funds by the local government. This government has not been able to do one good work properly.”
Leader Karna also accused the government of failing to maintain peace and security in the country, giving instances of government’s failure in solving the rape and murder of Nirmala Pant and the 33-kg gold smuggling case.
