The Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted overcast skies with light to heavy rain with snowfall in various parts of the country, including Kathmandu valley, for three days.

The change in weather has been attributed to a fresh western disturbance, the MFD said.

Meteorologist Manju Basi said the country witnessed rainfall and snowfall repeatedly in the winter season due to the influence of westerly wind. She said the western and central region will see rainfall from Thursday night.

Though the weather was sunny across the country till Wednesday, the weather pattern has changed owing to the westerly wind, which has entered the country from the western region on Wednesday night.

Most of the Himalayan districts may experience light to heavy snowfall.
