Adhikari was arrested on Monday while Syangbo was arrested on Tuesday from the Capital.
Adhikari had taken Rs450,000 from Amit Shrestha promising him a dependent visa, after staging a fake marriage at a court. Shrestha had filed a case at the division, after Adhikari disappeared with the money.
Police nabbed Adhikari, and during interrogation, she revealed that she worked for Syangbo. Syangbo is an academic director of Asian International Consultancy at Bansbari, in Kathmandu.
“Since Syangbo had a consultancy, it was easy for the duo to make forge documents and to lure victims,” Superintendent of Police Kedar Dhakal, spokesperson of the division, told the Post.
