Brick industries to promote cleaner technologies

After successfully launching a nation-wide awareness and training programme on the use of cleaner and energy efficient technologies in the brick industry, the Federation of Nepal Brick Industries (FNBI) is organising another seven-day vocational training in the Capital starting Saturday.

The FNBI and other stakeholders including, the Energy Efficiency Centre under Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries, have come together to share and promote the application of newer and cleaner brick kiln technologies in the country to minimise pollution and reduce the consumption of fossil fuels in the sector.

Under the first phase of the campaign, the Federation has completed a 12-day training for the brick owners and staffs in seven places outside the Valley. After the training, the third phase would conduct energy audit of five industries and establish them as modern industries.
