Jul 4, 2015-
The 9th International Education Fair has become a hit among students. The fair, which kicked off from Thursday at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu, drew over 60,000 visitors on Saturday, according to Educational Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN), the event organiser.
More than 70,000 people attended the first two days of the fair which concludes on Sunday.
The fair provides comprehensive information and advice to students aspiring to go abroad for higher education.
Students who recently completed their high school have been thronging the fair in large numbers to enquire about university education in countries such as the US, Australia, the UK, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, China, India and Bangladesh, said ECAN Vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel. According to him, most of the students are attracted towards technical and business studies.
Unlike previous years, several Nepali colleges have also kept their stalls at the fair.
ECAN President Rajendra Baral said we are encouraging domestic colleges to participate in the fair because our plan is to develop Nepal as an education hub.
