Minister for Commerce and Supplies Ganesh Man Pun has said the obstruction in supplies of daily essentials and petroleum products at Nepal-India border points has had a negative impact on the economy and caused a humanitarian crisis.
Addressing the 10th ministerial-level conference of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in Nairobi, Kenya, Pun stressed all WTO member states should respect the agreements and bring them into practice.
The minister also congratulated Afghanistan and Liberia for their WTO membership.
In a statement, he said Nepal has entered into a new era of peace, stability and inclusiveness following the promulgation of the democratic and inclusive Constitution.
He urged all the WTO members, mainly close neighbours, to help Nepal get integrated into the global economy.
