Govt, political parties not cooperating, says CIEDP

- Post Report, Lamjung

Jan 1, 2016- Commission for Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP) has said the government and major political parties do not cooperate with it in the investigation of cases of disappeared people and human rights violations.

Speaking at a programme in Beshisahar on Thursday, CIEDP spokesperson Bishnu Pathak claimed that pressure from the government and the parties had been hampering its investigation.
Lamenting that they cannot work freely even 11 months after the formation of the CIEDP, Pathak threatened to stage “fast-unto-death” if the government did not extend its support. He hinted that they could move a court if the government does not cooperate in creating a workable environment.
