Charging blues and annoying niggles
Charging blues and annoying nigglesPrajesh SJB Rana
I heard from a friend of mine that charging your phone with chargers that didn’t come out of the box will eventually damage your battery and your phone. Is this true? I have a lot of chargers from phones other than the one that I’m currently using so I was just wondering if using these chargers with my phone would damage it.

Hi Dawa,
It’s actually quite alright to use chargers from other manufactures as long as they’re original. I would not recommend using fake chargers. But if the chargers that you have come from the original manufactures themselves, using them with your current device should not be a problem. Your phone might not charge at the same speed as it did with the compatible charger but it should be safe. Before you actually go about charging your phone with any other charger, make sure that the output of the charger corresponds with your device and if the charger is throwing out more amperes than your device can handle, it might adversely affect your device. If everything lines up, any charger should be safe as long as it’s original.
I keep getting a dialogue box that keeps asking for passwords for something called login keychain on my Mac. But no matter what password I put in, the dialogue box keeps appearing and I nothing is usable when the dialogue box is open. How do I fix this issue?

Dear Shristi,
Mac computers have a centralised password management system, the keychain. Sometimes, because of various reasons, they keychains can get corrupted and this might just be the reason why your computer is not recognising your keychain password. The ideal solution to this problem would be to delete the login keychain completely and start up fresh. You can find a keychain option inside the utilities Window and this system application will help you manage all of your keychains. Once you open up the Keychain Window, you can find a login keychain on the left-hand sidebar. Two-finger click on the login keychain and select the delete option from the pop-up menu. After you’ve deleted the keychain, restart your computer and the next time you Mac asks for the login keychain
password, you can simply use your login password to setup a new login keychain. This should solve your problem but if it doesn’t, then you can try resetting your keychains altogether. You can do this from the same Keychain Access menu. Open up preferences from the Keychain Access window and click on ‘Reset my default keychain’ under the General tab. It should ask you for your login password. Enter it and restart. This option should reset your default keychain and stop the annoying keychain pop-ups that you are receiving.
I have been experiencing some problems since my last Chrome browser update. Since the update, the tabs that I have open on my browser close if I’m not actively using it and when I come back to these tabs, the webpage starts reloading. This feature is annoying me very much since I have really important tabs that I need to keep open for quick references while I’m working. It’s really annoying that I have wait for the page to load again for reference it, is there any way that I can disable this feature so that all my pages stay-open, even when I’m not actively using them?

Hi Sujan,
This is actually a new feature that Google has introduced in their Chrome Browsers. This feature is implemented since every Chrome tab is treated as a separate process, many tabs open at the same time could be quite taxing on the system’s resources. To counter this, Chrome gets rid of pages that you might not be using constantly to free up system resources. Disabling this feature is quite simple and all you need to do is navigate to chrome://flags/ and search for an option called enable tab discarding. Simply disable this option once you find it and your problem should be solved. If you want to keep the feature but just want some pages to stay open, you can manually control the discard option by navigating to chrome://discards/. This page will give you details about the pages that have been discarded and the ones that you can discard manually.
