After the Post ran a story about Ramesh Damai’s story, various people shared it through social media, prompting individuals and organisations from around the world to extend monetary support.
Only on Tuesday, the Baglung Society of Japan handed over Rs 700,000 to the boy’s parents, Nar Bahadur and Narkumari. Earlier, the Belgium Society, an association of Nepalis living in Belgium, had provided Rs 900,000 for Ramesh’s treatment. Besides, donation money are also being collected in the couple’s bank account.
Narkumari said her son developed the condition shortly after he was born and got worse over the years. Narkumari and Nar Bahadur had recently taken Ramesh to Kathmandu for treatment. The couple said they will use the donation money to continue the treatment.
