Naya Shakti cleans up Boudha area

Naya Shakti Nepal on Saturday continued its Clean Kathmandu, Green Kathmandu drive for the second week by Boudhanath Stupa in Boudha.

The group, a motley crew of politicians, actors, businessmen and academicians hoping to form a political party soon, collected five truckloads of garbage from the area. 

The group launched its 24-week campaign last Saturday from another Pashupatinath Temple.Locals turned out in large numbers in the programme on Saturday. Ganga Narayan Shrestha, a member of the Secretariat of Naya Shakti, said that they will clean Patan Durbar Square, also a World Heritage Site, next week. 

Members of Naya Shakti say that Coordinator Baburam Bhattarai, who played a vital role as PM to expand roads in the valley, is now working to make Kathmandu clean.
