Put in to bat, RCW amassed 202-6 in 30-over-a-side game on the back of half centuries from Renu Yadav and Pooja Nimavat. RCW were packed up for a paltry 77 in 21 overs.
Former national women’s team skipper Nary Thapa top scored for the local side with a 30-ball 36 with her innings including four boundaries. Mamta Chaudhary was next batswoman to make runs in double figures with a 21-ball 16. She hit two fours. Juhi Pandey wreaked havoc in RCW batting taking 4-9 from six overs.
Earlier, AWTCA made the most of their experience and it was the pair of Yadav and Nimavat that ran riot. Yadav smashed a 43-ball 57 that included eight boundaries, while Nimavat contributed 54 off 53 that included nine hits to the fence. Thapa gave an all round performance for RCW taking 2-26 from six overs. Ashmina Karmacharya (2-36) and Anjali Chand (2-24) also shared four wickets between them. RCW also gave away 24 extra runs to AWTCA.
On Tuesday, Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club will take on AWTCA in a 50-over match. Three teams are participating in the tournament organised by RCW. While the national champions APF will play another 50-over game with RCW, the latter also play AWTCA in two Twenty20 and one 50-over games.
