The main opposition has already said that the policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year are “unrealistic and ambitious”. NC leaders say they will protest in the House against the government’s inaction.
According to leaders of the largest party, they allowed the government to present its policies but they would not remain silent over the government’s wrongdoings. Constitution implementation, addressing the demands of the Madhes-based parties, sluggish progress in reconstruction, and the government’s decision to recall Nepali Ambassador to India Deep Kumar Upadhyay are the NC’s main issues with the government.
The party will protest the government’s decision to scrap the political appointments made by the erstwhile NC-led government.
NC leader Prakash Man Singh compared the government’s programmes to an election manifesto, which is difficult to implement. He said the populist plans would not necessarily be good for the country. Congress leader Bimalendra Nidhi said that the coalition government had presented some of the old programmes in new format.
The NC appears to be preparing to present itself aggressively against the government after its bid to change the government failed.
