Over 250 participate for Wai Wai Glocal Teen Hero
With more than 250 participants, the applications for the Wai Wai Glocal Teen Hero competition for this year have concluded.With more than 250 participants, the applications for the Wai Wai Glocal Teen Hero competition for this year have concluded. The second edition of Wai Wai Glocal Teen Hero, an initiation by Glocal Khabar, is a designed platform for teenagers to share their initiation, creativity and enthusiasm to develop entrepreneurial thinking. Bipana Sharma, a 17-year old child rights activist from Sunwal VDC in Nawalparasi, won the title last year.
With an aim to reach out to teenagers from all over the country, the platform encouraged participants from Pokhara, Chitwan, Bhairahawa, Biratnagar, Birgunj and Janakpur apart from the Kathmandu Valley.
Top six finalists will be shortlisted for the final round of the competition on the basis of initiation and the impact of their work and will be interviewed individually by a five-member jury panel comprising of Anil Keshary Shah, Saurav Jyoti, Samriddhi Rai, Narottam Aryal and Ambica Shrestha.
The event is being organised by Glocal Khabar in partnership with the Ministry of Youth & Sports, Wai Wai, BP Koirala India Nepal Foundation of Embassy of India, UNDP, Panchakanya Group, Coca-Cola, Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Honda, Nepal Airlines, Buddha Air, Sparrow SMS, and QFX Cinemas. The finale and award ceremony will be held on August 1 at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Kathmandu, and will be broadcasted live on NTV Plus.
