The local administration is yet to reach the affected area except Kakada. The displaced people have been taking shelters in the public buildings and their relatives’ houses after being displaced because of floods and landslides.
Two persons died while scores others were displaced at Malikarjun, Sarmoli, Kakada, Bhagawati, among other villages, on Thursday night. One woman is still missing, said police.
“Security personnel have been deployed in the affected areas. It takes time to reach all the affected areas as the transportation has been disrupted due to floods and landslides,” said Bishwomitra Kuikel, the acting chief district office.
He added rescue and relief works have also been affected due to continuous rainfall.
The local administration is yet to assess the damage caused by the floods and landslides in the district.
