The Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City Office (LSMC), which is planning to install solar lamps in all 28 wards, has allocated Rs 90 million for the project.
As per the plan, the LSMC will install 940 solar lamps in 28 wards.
Two wards—ward number 12 and 21-have not been included in the plan as consumers’ committees from the respective areas have not made any request for the same.
Of the total allocated budget, the government will bear 65 percent (Rs 60 million) while the sum-metropolis office will contribute
20 percent and respective consumer committees will put 15 percent.
The Alternative Energy Promotion Centre will provide technical support for installing the solar lamps.
