Chinese help sought for Humla road

Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Ghimire said the Chinese officials at Taklakot have pledged to offer necessary assistance to complete the road project.
“They have agreed to provide construction equipment, materials and a team of technicians,” Ghimire said.
Ghimire along with the chief of Hilsa-Simkot Road Project had met with the Chinese officials on July 13.
Taklakot is situated 30 km from Hilsa. The construction of Hilsa-Simkot road will open up several trade opportunities between Nepal and China, Ghimire said.
“The Chinese side has already agreed to issue permits to export several goods. Once the road is completed, we will focus on ways to improving our existing trade partnership with Taklakot.”
