Peace award for Prof Regmi
Prof Murari Prasad Regmi, former head of the Central Department of Psychology at Tribhuvan University, has received the Dean of International Peace Prize.Prof Murari Prasad Regmi, former head of the Central Department of Psychology at Tribhuvan University, has received the Dean of International Peace Prize. Given for the first time by World Without Anger Nepal in 2016, the award carries a purse of Rs25,000 and a medal with certification.
Given on the occasion of the sixth international conference of the WWA on Saturday, the award recognises Regmi’s contribution to areas of emotional literacy, positive psychology and psycho-social well being of the people he has interacted with.
The award is named after Dean Van Leuven, the US-based founder patron of the WWA.
According to Mukunda Raj Khanal, programme director for the WWA Nepal, the organisation has been providing training on emotional intelligence to students at more than 40 private and government schools.
At the one-day international conference held in Kathmandu, more than 29 papers were presented by scholars and professionals from India, the United States, Japan and Nepal, among other countries.
On the occasion, the WWA Journal Volume 5, published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing was also released.
