Nepal’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations deposited the instrument of ratification of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change with the UN secretary general in New York on Wednesday.
Following a parliamentary decision on Tuesday, the instrument was sent to the mission by the Foreign Ministry, according to a statement. The submission of papers related to ratification by Nepal and other countries fulfilled the requirement necessary for the Paris Agreement to come into force on November 6. As of Wednesday, the agreement has been ratified by 72 states. (PR)
