Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav has said his party “has no knowledge” of the impeachment motion registered in Parliament against Lokman Singh Karki, the suspended chief of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority.

At a press meet organised in Dolakha on Sunday, the SSFN chief did not speak clearly about the proposal jointly registered by the CPN (Maoist Centre) and the CPN-UML.

“Our party has no idea who filed the proposal and why. Nobody has informed us on the matter so our party has no concern about the impeachment,” said Yadav.

SSFN senior leader Ashok Rai and Co-chairman Rajendra Shrestha also remained tight-lipped on the matter. The SSFN leaders arrived in Dolakha on Saturday to attend the party’s first district convention.

“Our party does not have much concern over the impeachment proposal brought up so that some UML and Maoist leaders can escape from corruption charges,” said a senior SSFN leader.
