KU confers honorary degree on Indian prez

Mukherjee is in Nepal on a three-day state visit. Ministers, chancellors of various universities, Indian ambassador to Nepal and other dignitaries were present during the ceremony.
Addressing the function, PM Dahal described Mukherjee as a towering personality of South Asia and expressed his sincere gratitude to the Indian president for accepting the honour.
“We are very much delighted and grateful having you with us on this special convocation and receiving your insightful thoughts. We believe that your experience, knowledge and wisdom of thoughts have inspired us to understand the meaning of life and also help us to live with meaningful life. It is indeed a matter of pride for the people of Nepal and the Kathmandu University itself,” said PM Dahal.
Also addressing the programme after receiving the degree, Indian President Mukherjee said the honorary degree conferred on him has inspired him to further dedicate his life for the service of human kind. “I hope the graduates of the KU will dedicate themselves in innovation which is only way out for the development and prosperity,” he said.
